How do I set up the game?

To set up the game, follow these steps: **Player Board Setup** 1. Each player chooses a color and takes one player board, one Player Aid book, 5 Rubble Set markers (cubes), 8 wooden houses, 8 Officials (meeples), 1 Good tile of each type (gold, books, cloth, tools), and 10 réis [1][2]. 2. Each player draws 2 Clergy tiles from the Clergy Tile bag at random, keeps one, and returns the other to the bag [2]. 3. Each player takes 1 random Royal Favor tile drawn from the Rubble bag [2]. 4. Each player takes 1 random Starting Plan (the ones with the dark blue backs) and returns any remaining Starting Plans to the box [2]. 5. Place 1 Courtier meeple in one of the Royal Court spaces on the player board [2]. 6. Place 1 Wigs marker on space 5 of the Wigs score track [2]. **Card and Deck Setup** 7. Separate Political cards into decks by color, shuffle each deck, and set them aside [3]. 8. Deal 5 cards to each player from the blue deck (1s755-1757) and return remaining cards to the box; experienced players may draft hands by keeping 2 and passing 3 to the left, then keeping 1 and passing 2, then keeping 1 and passing 1 [3]. 9. Distribute all cards from the red deck (1758-1762) face-down in the Event display, separated by type on their respective spaces to create 4 decks of 5 unique cards each, then flip the top card of each deck face-up [3]. 10. Include Ship cards based on player count: with 4 players include 3 of each; with 3 players include 2 of each; with 2 players include 1 of each, and return any remaining copies to the box [3]. 11. Stack blue Ship cards atop red Ship cards and place the stack face-up in the shipyard; set others aside for later use [3]. 12. Shuffle the Decree deck, place it face-down next to the gameboard, and lay out the top 8 cards face-up (in a 2-player game, any Decree cards with the specific symbol must be immediately replaced) [3]. 13. Flip all 16 Public Buildings blue-side-up, shuffle them, split into two stacks of 8, and flip one stack green-side-up; place each stack beside the plan space of the same-color architect [1]. 14. Move the top tile of each architect's Public Building stack into that architect's plan space [1]. 15. Separate Plan tiles into two face-up stacks (green or blue) based on the depicted architect, sorted by number of officials (fewest on top, most on bottom), and place each stack on the appropriate space [1]. **Gameboard and Component Setup** 16. Place 4 Price markers in the spaces marked with the goods' colors on the market track [1]. 17. Place one City tile on each space (yellow, pink, brown, blue, small blue) on the board to form the City Building display; leave remaining tiles in stacks near the display [1]. 18. Shuffle 4 Scoring tiles depicting wigs and place a random one in each space at the bottom of the downtown map (in a 2-player game, skip row E) [1]. 19. Draw 6 Clergy tiles from the Clergy Tile bag and place them face-up (wigs-side-down) on the dark spaces of the Church track; place the Cardinal meeple on the space with the Influence symbol [1]. 20. Put 1 Royal Favor tile of each character, per player, in the Rubble bag; dump remaining Royal Favor tiles from the Rubble bag and stack them for each character on their portrait space [1][2]. 21. Place the big Treasury marker cube on space 3 of the Treasury track [1]. 22. Place all goods and all money next to the gameboard to form the general supply and the Royal Treasury [1]. 23. Place all Rubble cubes in the Rubble bag [3]. 24. Place one random Rubble cube from the bag in each space at the bottom of the columns of the Downtown map and at the right end of the rows (skip row E in a 2-player game) [3]. 25. Place 2 random Rubble cubes in each Public Building Site around the three edges of Downtown (skip row E in a 2-player game) [3].

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

stream path
streamed — the gateway pushed at least one accumulated draft
watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

this game registers NO errata cards (edition 218), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one

Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
