How do I set up the game?
Answered counted as answeredAsked with: Rising Sunbg-205896-en-1e
To set up the game, follow these steps: 1. Each player chooses one of the available Clans by placing a Clan Screen in front of them and placing a Political/War tile behind it with the Political side facing up [1]. 2. All materials and figures for unchosen Clans are returned to the game box [1]. 3. Players sit around the table in clockwise order according to their Clan's Starting Honor Rank, starting with the Clan with the lowest-numbered Starting Honor Rank [2]. 4. Place one Clan marker on the first slot of the Victory Point Track and place the other Clan marker on the Honor Track based on the Clan's Starting Honor Rank [2]. 5. Each player takes 1 Daimyo figure, 1 Bushi figure, and 1 Stronghold token and places them in their Home Province on the board [2]. 6. Players take their Daimyo, 3 Shinto figures, and 6 Bushi figures (ensuring the Daimyo has a black base and Shintos have white bases) and keep them in their Reserve next to their Clan Screen [2]. 7. Players keep all plastic bases of their Clan's color, 4 Stronghold tokens, and their Alliance token next to them [2]. 8. Shuffle 7 Shrine tiles facedown; draw 4 and place them faceup on the board's Shrine Slots from left to right (first-time players should use Amaterasu, Fujin, Hachiman, and Tsukuyomi) [3]. Return the remaining 3 tiles to the box [3]. 9. Create three separate facedown decks (Spring, Summer, and Autumn) using the Core Season cards [3]. 10. Select a Set of Season Cards (such as Archway for first-time players) and add its 5 cards for each season to the Core decks so that each deck contains 12 cards; return all other Season cards to the box [3]. 11. Separate War Province tokens into three facedown piles (I, II, and III) with 8 tokens each and place them next to the board [3]. 12. Place all War Number tokens next to the board [3]. 13. Shuffle 10 Political Mandate tiles facedown and place them in a pile next to the board [3]. 14. Place all Monster figures, Coins, and Ronin tokens in common piles next to the board within reach of all players [3]. 15. Place the randomized War Province tokens for the current Season (I-Spring, II-Summer, III-Autumn) faceup on the board's War Province Slots [4]. The number of tokens must equal the number of players plus 2 [4]. 16. Place each War Number token in the War Number Slot of the Province indicated by the War Province tokens; return unused tokens to the box [4]. 17. Set current Season cards next to the board [5]. 18. Organize Clan markers on the Honor Track according to each Clan's Starting Honor Rank [5]. 19. Give each player their Seasonal Income Coins and return any Hostages, granting 1 Coin from the common pile for each [5]. 20. Negotiate to form new Alliances [5].

retrieval — what the search arm returned
score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.
per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.
token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

- stream path
- streamed — the gateway pushed at least one accumulated draft
- watchdog
- first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
- num_ctx · think posture
- both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

errata registry — what the gate above had to match against
this game registers NO errata cards (edition 242), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one
Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
