How do I set up the game?

Answered counted as answered

Asked with: Blood Ragebg-170216-en-1e

To set up the game, follow these steps: 1. Place the Valhalla sheet and the Age Track sheet next to the Game Board [1]. 2. Place the Pillage token with the green border on the Yggdrasil province at the center of the board, with the reward side facing up [1]. 3. Shuffle the other 8 Pillage tokens and place them randomly on the other 8 provinces surrounding Yggdrasil, face up [1]. 4. Shuffle the 8 Ragnarök tokens and place one on each of the three Ragnarök spots on the Age Track with the text side facing up [1]. 5. Place the Doom token on the province indicated by the Ragnarök token on the First Age track [1]. 6. Depending on the number of players, randomly take the specified number of Ragnarök tokens and place them on the indicated provinces with the 'destroyed' side facing up: 1 province for a 4-player game, 2 provinces for a 3-player game, and 3 provinces for a 2-player game [1]. 7. Separate the cards by their card backs to create three different decks: 1, 2, and 3 [2][3]. 8. Remove specific cards from each deck based on player count: no cards are removed for 4 players; all 4+ cards are removed for 3 players; all 3+ and 4+ cards are removed for 2 players [2][3]. 9. Place any removed cards back in the game box [2][3]. 10. Shuffle each of the three decks separately and place them, face down, on the appropriate Gods' Gifts spots of the Age Track [2][3]. 11. Each player chooses a clan by placing one Clan Sheet in front of them [4]. 12. For each chosen clan, take the Leader figure and 8 Warrior figures and ensure small plastic bases in the clan's color are attached to them [4]. 13. Take one Ship figure and ensure it has a sail attached in the clan's color [4]. 14. Keep all clan figures near the clan sheet (the reserve) [4]. 15. Keep the clan's extra 2 small bases and 2 large bases next to the player [4]. 16. Place the clan's Glory Marker on the '0' spot of the Glory Track around the board [4]. 17. Place one Clan Token on the first spot of each of the three Clan Stats (Rage, Axes, and Horns) on the clan sheet, resulting in starting stats of 6 Rage, 3 Axes, and 4 Horns [4]. 18. Place the final Clan Token on the '6' spot of the Rage Track on the clan sheet [4]. 19. Place all Monster figures next to the board within reach of all players [3]. 20. Place the Saga token on the "Gods’ Gifts – Age 1" spot (the first spot of the First Age) on the Story Track [3]. 21. Give the First Player token to the player born furthest to the north [3].

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

stream path
streamed — the gateway pushed at least one accumulated draft
watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

this game registers NO errata cards (edition 200), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one

Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
