Before anyone takes a turn, how is everything laid out on the table?

To set up the game before anyone takes a turn, follow these steps: 1. Place the game board in the center of the game area [1]. 2. Each player chooses a faction (Daqan or Uthuk) [1]. 3. Each player takes their faction's plastic figures, unit reference cards, and deployment cards and places them in their play area [1]. 4. Create the supply by separating all tokens and markers by type into piles [1]. 5. Shuffle all command cards into a deck and place it near the game board within reach of both players [1]. 6. Each player takes their faction's lore cards and scenario cards, shuffles them into two separate decks, and places the decks facedown in their play area [1]. 7. Each player draws three scenario cards from their scenario deck, chooses one, and returns all others to the game box [2]. 8. Both players simultaneously reveal and resolve their chosen scenario cards by reading the text, determining the first player, placing terrain tiles and banner markers, and placing fords [2][3]. 9. Players place terrain tiles and banner markers on the appropriate hexes based on their scenario cards; if water hexes are adjacent, the first player replaces them with river tiles to connect them (replacing river tiles with lake tiles if an open river is created away from a board edge) [3]. 10. Starting with the first player, each player places one ford token on any water hex shown on their scenario card that does not already contain a ford or bridge token [3]. 11. Each player musters their army by spending muster points to purchase deployment cards [2] (this involves adding 11 decoy cards to the faction's deployment cards, choosing cards until the player has exactly 18 cards totaling no more than 50 muster points, and optionally adding one command tent) [4]. 12. Each player places their 18 deployment cards facedown on the shaded deployment hexes indicated on their scenario card (terrain deployment cards must be placed on hexes that do not already contain terrain) [4]. 13. Both players simultaneously reveal their deployment cards by flipping them faceup, then immediately remove all revealed decoys from the board and return them to the game box [4]. 14. Each player receives one lore token (to a maximum of five) for each unspent muster point [4]. 15. The first player places the first player token in their play area [2]. 16. Each player draws six command cards from the command deck and three lore cards from their faction's lore deck [2]. 17. Both players secretly and simultaneously choose two of their command cards and one of their lore cards to place on the bottom of the appropriate decks [2].

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

stream path
streamed — the gateway pushed at least one accumulated draft
watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

NOT_SETUP_SHAPED — no setup-shape pattern matched this question

this game registers NO errata cards (edition 431), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one

Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
