How do I play?

Asked with: Libertalia: Winds of Galecrestbg-356033-en-1e

Setup
1. Place the board (the island) on the table in Calm, Stormy, or Uncharted format.[1]
2. Place all loot tokens in the bag.[1]
3. Each player claims a set of 40 sequential character cards (unshuffled), a matching score dial set to 0, and a graveyard tile.[1]
4. Randomly place the 6 reputation tokens from left to right on the reputation track.[1]
5. For 2-player games, cover the second and third spaces of the island with the Midshipman tile.[1]
6. For 2-player games, randomly place the active players' reputation tokens on the third and fourth spaces of the reputation track, then place the remaining tokens on the other spaces.[1]
7. Before each voyage, randomly draw loot tokens from the bag to place on the designated spaces on the board; each day will have a number of tokens equal to the number of players (or 3 tokens per day for 2-player games).[2]
8. Designate a player to shuffle their character deck, draw 6 random cards, and reveal them; all players gain these same 6 cards to add to their hands.[2]
9. Gain doubloons equal to the number shown below your reputation token on the reputation track.[2]
Gameplay
Libertalia is played over 3 voyages, with the first voyage lasting 4 days, the second 5 days, and the final 6 days.[3] Each day, all players simultaneously select a character card from their hand and play it face down.[3] Once all players have played, reveal all cards and place them on the island from left to right in ascending order based on rank.[3] If the same character is played by multiple players, the player with the higher reputation places their character further to the right.[4][3]
The following phases occur each day:
1. Daytime: Starting with the leftmost character (lowest rank) and proceeding right, each player activates their character's daytime ability (if any).[3]
2. Dusk: Starting with the rightmost character (highest rank) and proceeding left, each player with a character on the island:
* Gains a loot token (if any) from the current day, unless otherwise stated by the character.[3]
* Activates dusk abilities on their character and/or the newly gained loot token.[3]
* Places their character face up in their ship if it is still on the island.[3]
* (In 2-player games, if a character is directly to the left of the Midshipman, the opponent removes a loot token from the current day before the player gains one).[5]
3. Night: Simultaneously with other players, activate all night abilities on characters in your ship in any order.[3]
4. After the dusk phase, any remaining loot tokens for that day are put back in the bag.[3]
End of Each Voyage
1. Activate anchor abilities on characters and loot.[6][7]
2. Update score dials and discard doubloons.[6][7]
3. Discard loot tokens and characters in ships.[6]
4. (After the night phase of the final day of each voyage, players may keep a character in their ship for the next voyage or gain 2 doubloons, or use a Saber ability to discard an opponent's character).[7]
Before Each Voyage
1. Populate loot tokens (1 per player or 3 for two players).[6]
2. Gain the same 6 character cards.[6]
3. Gain doubloons based on reputation.[6]

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 16 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.

both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it.
