How do I play?

Asked with: Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countriesbg-31627-en-1e

Setup
1. Place the Globetrotter Bonus card face up next to the board.[1]
2. Place the board map in the center of the table.[1]
3. Each player takes a set of 40 Colored Train Cars along with its matching Scoring Marker.[1]
4. Each player places his Scoring Marker on the starting location next to the 100 number on the Scoring Track.[1]
5. Shuffle the Train Car cards and deal a starting hand of 4 cards to each player.[1]
6. Place the remaining deck of Train Car cards near the board and turn the top five cards from the deck face-up.[1]
7. Shuffle the Destination Ticket cards and deal 5 cards to each player.[1]
8. Place the Destination Ticket deck next to the board.[1]
9. Each player looks at their Destination Tickets and decides which ones to keep, keeping at least two and up to all five; returned cards are removed from the game.[1]
Gameplay
1. The player who is the most experienced traveler goes first.[2]
2. Play proceeds clockwise around the table, with each player taking one turn at a time until the game ends.[2]
3. On a turn, a player must perform one (and only one) of the following three actions:
* Draw Train Car cards: The player may draw 2 Train Car cards, taking any one face-up card or the top card from the deck (a blind draw).[2] If a face-up card is taken, a replacement is turned face-up.[2] The player then draws their second card from either the face-up cards or the top of the deck.[2]
* Claim a Route: A player may claim any open route on the board by playing a set of Train Car cards of the same color and length as the route, then placing one of their colored trains on each space of that route.[2][3]
* To claim a route, the player must play a set of cards equal to the number of spaces in the route.[3]
* For Gray routes, a set of cards of any one color can be used.[3]
* For the Murmansk-Lieksa route, a player can use any four cards (including locomotives) as a substitute for a card of any color.[3]
* To claim a Ferry Route, a player must play a Locomotive card for each locomotive symbol on the route, plus the usual set of cards of the proper color for the remaining spaces; additionally, a player can use Locomotive cards as substitutes for color cards, and any three cards can substitute for a Locomotive card.[3]
* To claim a Tunnel route, a player first lays down the required number of cards, then the top 3 cards from the Train Car draw pile are turned face-up; for each revealed card whose color matches the color used to claim the tunnel (including locomotives), the player must play an additional matching color card or a locomotive.[4] If the player cannot or does not wish to play additional cards, they take their cards back and their turn ends.[4]
* When a route is claimed, the player places a plastic train in each space, and the cards used are placed in a discard pile.[3]
* The player records their score by moving their Scoring Marker along the Scoring Track.[2]
* Draw Destination Tickets: The player may draw 3 Destination Tickets from the top of the deck, keeping at least one, but up to all three.[4] Returned cards are removed from the game.[4]
Game End and Scoring
1. The game enters its final stage when one player's stock of colored trains is reduced to two or fewer at the end of their turn; in this case, every player gets one final turn.[5]
2. The game ends and players calculate final scores.[5]
3. Players add points earned from completed routes and Destination Tickets, and subtract points for any Destination Tickets they failed to complete.[1][5]
4. The player who completed the most Destination Tickets receives the Globetrotter Bonus card and adds 10 points to their score.[5]
5. The player with the most points wins.[5]
6. In the event of a tie for most points, the player with the most completed Destination Tickets wins; if still tied, the player with the longest route wins.[5]

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 7 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

NOT_SETUP_SHAPED — no setup-shape pattern matched this question

this game registers NO errata cards (edition 272), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one

Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
