How do I setup the game?

Answered counted as answered

Asked with: The Galleristbg-125153-en-1e

To setup the game, follow these steps:
1. Place the Game board in the middle of the table.[1]
2. Place the Player boards around the Game board nearest to the Gallery of the appropriate color.[1]
3. Place Visitors in the cloth bag: use all Visitors for a 4-Player game; for 3-Player, remove 2 of each type and place them in the box; for 2-Player and Solitaire, remove 4 of each type.[1]
4. Place each Player's Influence marker (disc) on the '10' space of the Influence Track.[1]
5. In the box office, place a number of tickets of each color depending on the number of Players: 20 tickets for 4-Player, 15 for 3-Player, and 10 for 2-Player and Solitaire; place any remaining tickets back in the game box.[1]
6. Shuffle the contract cards, place them face down on the leftmost space, then draw the top 4 cards and place them face up on the four contract display spaces.[1]
7. Shuffle all 16 Artist tiles and place them one at a time onto the spaces on the board which match the color and Art form of the Artist (each Art form has 1 blue Artist and 1 red Artist); if you draw an Artist whose space is already occupied, return it to the game box; repeat until all spaces are filled and return any remaining Artists to the box.[1]
8. Place the first drawn blue Artist tile face up and mark its initial Fame with a white cube (the initial Fame value is printed on both sides of the tile); all other Artists begin the game face-down.[1]
9. Shuffle the Artist bonus tiles and place one at random on each Artist, returning any remaining tiles to the box.[1]
10. Place one white Visitor (Collector) from the bag on each red Artist tile.[1]
11. Place both of the Artist's Signature tokens next to all the corresponding Artist tiles.[1]
12. For each Art form, shuffle the respective Works of Art and place each stack face up on the space next to the appropriate studio.[1]
13. Take the top tile from each of the stacks and set them aside for now.[1]
14. Place a number of random Visitors from the bag on each topmost Work of Art equal to the number of tickets depicted on the tile.[1]
15. Stack each of the Promotion tokens on the corresponding numbered spaces.[1]
16. For the International Market: randomly choose 12 Reputation tiles and place one face up on each space of the upper 4 rows (for 2-Player and Solitaire, choose only 8 tiles and cover only the upper 4 rows of the 1st and 3rd columns).[2]
17. Shuffle the 4 Works of Art previously set aside and place one at random on each of the easels beside the board (use three easels for 4-Player, two for 3-Player, and one for 2-Player and Solitaire); return any remaining easels and Works of Art to the box.[2]
18. Place 4 random Visitors from the bag in the Plaza and 1 random Visitor in each Player's Lobby.[2]
19. Randomly choose 4 of the remaining Reputation tiles and place one at random face up next to each Location on the game board.[2]
20. Choose a start Player at random and give them the Starting Player marker.[2]
21. In reverse Player order, each Player chooses one of the Locations, places his Gallerist there, and takes the Reputation tile from that Location; place remaining tiles back in the box.[2]
22. Place everything else near the game board.[2]
23. Place 8 Assistants on the spaces of the unemployment queue and the remaining 2 Assistants at desks in the office.[2]
24. Place the Reputation tile taken earlier on the 3rd Art space of the Player board.[2]
25. Take 10 money from the bank.[2]
26. Shuffle the Art Dealer cards and deal one at random to each Player, and do the same with the Curator cards (these are kept secret).[2]

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 39 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.

this game registers NO errata cards (edition 220), so "no registered errata card matched" above could never have matched one

Errata scope: the gate above matched this ruling's own edition only. When an ask also reads an expansion, that expansion's own registered errata cards stay outside the match — a stated phase-1 limitation, not a failed lookup.
