How do I play?

Asked with: Kitchen Rushbg-223953-en-1e

Kitchen Rush is a cooperative game where all players work together as a team to win or lose.[1] The game is played in a series of 4 rounds.[1]
Setup
1. Place the game board in the middle of the table.[2]
2. Place piles of all Ingredients, Spices, and money near the game board, within reach of all players.[2]
3. Fill the cloth bag with Spices based on the number of players.[2]
4. Place the bag next to the game board, near the Spices area.[2]
5. Shuffle the Upgrades and place them in a face-down pile next to the game board, near the Office area, and reveal the first 2 cards.[2]
6. Place one plate of each size next to the revealed Upgrade cards.[2]
7. Give each player a Player Mat and 2 Hourglasses of the same color.[2]
8. Choose one remaining Hourglass to be the players' Helper and place it next to the game board.[2]
9. Place the second Hourglass of the Helper's color next to the Upgrades, laid down.[2]
10. Place the Prestige Track Mat on the side of the playing area and put a marker on the starting space (0) and one on the first space of the Round track (round 1).[3]
11. Shuffle the Prestige Bonuses and place them in a face-down pile on the first card slot.[3]
12. Decide on a difficulty level (Easy, Normal, Hard, Very Hard), get a corresponding Objective, and inform everyone of the requirements.[3]
13. Shuffle the Orders and place them in a face-down deck next to the game board, near the Maitre d' space.[3]
14. Set a digital timer or cell phone countdown to 4 minutes.[3]
15. Add items to the game board.[3]
Gameplay
Each round consists of the following phases:
1. Preparation Phase: Move the marker on the Round track to the next space (skip this during the first round).[1] If playing with Events, draw the first one from the Events pile and apply its effect.[1] Any other effects that need to take place before players' actions also happen during this phase.[1] Players may freely discuss and form a plan for the upcoming Action phase.[1]
2. Action Phase: This phase is played in real-time with a timer.[4] Players perform actions with their workers by taking an Hourglass, turning it over, and placing it on an available action space.[4] You may perform an action immediately without waiting for the sand to run out, but you cannot move the Hourglass while sand is running.[4] You may only use your own Hourgiasses or the Helper.[4] You cannot use an action space that is already occupied by an Hourglass or contains a token (such as Locked, Unavailable Action, or Malfunction).[4] Moving an Hourglass to a new action space completes the previous action.[4]
3. Cleanup Phase: All Orders prepared by players are served during this phase.[5]
Actions
* Waiter: Choose one of two options:
* Take Order: Take an Order from the game board and place it face-up in front of you.[6] Take the required plate(s) from the Clean Plates area and place them on the first row of your Player Mat.[6] If the required plate is unavailable, you may use one size higher without penalty.[6] If no plate is available, you may take the Order and add the plate to your Player Mat later when it becomes available.[6]
* Serve Promptly: During the Action phase, you may turn an Order card sideways to immediately get 1 coin as a tip.[5] Once served promptly, you can no longer add Ingredients, Spices, or cook it more times.[5]
* Spices: Take the cloth bag and remove any number of Spices to place on your plates.[7] You may spread the cubes across multiple plates.[7] You can add Spices to a plate even while or after it is cooked.[7] You may continue taking cubes as long as you are in the Spices action, even if the sand runs out, but performing any other action ends this.[7]
Ending the Game
At the end of the 4th round, check to see if the team managed to accomplish the chosen goal.[1]

what this block IS: the PASSAGE SEARCH's own results — the same search that fills this page's closest-passages list — and NOT the passages the answerer read. Answering runs its OWN retrieval: a far wider candidate pool, re-ranked down to a final handful, plus floors this search never applies — the base rulebook, surviving errata corrections, and one slot per book on a multi-book read. Each of those armed only if THIS ask sent what it needs: the boost block names the ids it forwarded, and the scope line names the books it read. A document the answer CITES that no row here names is therefore EXPECTED, not a defect: two searches, two candidate pools, two orders. The answerer's own final rows are shown in their own block below, beside these and never mixed into them.

score = the fused retrieval score (reciprocal-rank fusion over the search arms) — NOT a cosine similarity. This ruling ran the THREE-ARM fuse (full-text + vector + the doc-priority boost arm, which carried the base rulebook and/or the errata corrections this query matched), whose arithmetic ceiling is 0.04918 — all three arms ranking the same chunk #1 (ceiling = arms/(k+1) at k=60). The measured healthy band 0.016–0.033 was measured on TWO-arm asks and does not bound this one: its high end is the two-arm ceiling, and a third arm has room above it. A chunk only one arm ranked highly lands near 0.016 (that one arm's #1 vote), so 0.03 here is an excellent hit, not a 3% match.

per-arm ranks (the rank each search arm gave a chunk): NOT DISCLOSED by the gateway. Fusion happens gateway-side and only the FUSED score crosses the wire, so rulesage cannot show them without a gateway change. The rank column below is the FUSED rank (position in the returned list), which is real.

token count per chunk: NOT DISCLOSED — chunk token counts are not reported on the ask path. The character counts below are of the bounded snippet/quote rulesage actually received — a real measurement of what we hold, never an estimate of the chunk.

what this block IS: the passages the ANSWERING read put in front of the answerer, in the order it read them — the other half of the two reads described above, and the one that decides what the answer could possibly say. Each row names the book it came from and where in that book it sits, what it scored when the search arms were fused, which arm carried it there, and whether the re-ranker chose it or a floor guaranteed it a slot. A row here that no passage-search row names is EXPECTED: a far wider pool, re-ranked, with floors the passage search never applies.

candidate pool: the answering read scored 27 passages, out of a ceiling of 80 set gateway-side. Both figures are reported by the gateway for THIS ask — measurements of what actually happened, not constants read out of anyone's source and printed here on faith.

floors armed for this ask: the base rulebook — armed · surviving errata corrections — not armed · one slot per book on a multi-book read — not armed. Every floor is stated on every ask, armed or not, so a floor that did not apply here is never mistaken for one this app does not know about.

arms fused for this ask: vector + full-text + the doc-priority boost arm. Stated separately from the rows because an arm that ran and carried nothing is a different fact from an arm that never ran.

watchdog
first-token watchdog: 30s per arming window (rulesage.table.first-token-watchdog-seconds), re-armed once by the passages frame — so the worst case before a reader falls back to polling is 60s. Whether it actually fired is a BROWSER-side decision that never reaches the server, so it is not recorded here. The stream path above is the server's half of that story: whether a delta was emitted at all.
num_ctx · think posture
both are the CHILD's settings, not rulesage's, and no ask reply carries them — an answer never states which context window or think posture produced it. The live-seat line above reads them from the running child instead, where the gateway can answer for itself; it describes the child NOW, not this ask.
