Setup

1. For a 4-player game, create a Garden of 4 rows of Garden Cards and 1 row of Desire Cards, with 5 cards per row.[1]

2. For the first row, deal the 2nd and 4th cards face-down.[1]

3. Place remaining Garden Cards and Desire Cards in separate decks to the side.[1]

4. Place Stones on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th cards in row 3, and on all cards in the 4th row; keep remaining Stones in a supply.[1]

5. Randomly pick 3 Bounty Cards and place them face-up above the Garden, then return the rest to the box.[1]

6. Place the Cup of Tea next to the Bounty Cards.[1]

7. Each player takes a Gardener Pawn and 3 Flower Tokens in a matching color.[1]

8. Randomly choose a starting player, who places their pawn to the left of the topmost row of the Garden Cards.[2][1]

9. Going clockwise from the starting player, each player places their pawn to the left of the next row of Garden Cards, such that all rows except the last have a pawn in front of them.[2][1]

Taking Turns

1. At the start of the first day, players take turns from top to bottom based on the order of the Gardener Pawns placed to the left of the garden.[3][4]

2. On your turn, perform Action 1: Pick any card in the column immediately to the right of your Gardener Pawn and place it face-up in front of you; if the card has a Stone, take it as well.[3][4]

3. Perform Action 2: Move your Gardener Pawn to the space where you took the card from.[3][4]

4. After each player takes a turn, a new round begins starting with the Gardener Pawn at the top and going down, with cards chosen from the next column on the right.[3][4]

5. In the solo game, after moving your Gardener Pawn, reveal the top card from the Crow Actions Deck and place it face-up in the discard pile, then follow its instructions.[5]

6. In the solo game, do not draw a Crow Action Card on the last round of each day.[5]

Beginning a New Day

1. At the end of each day, discard any remaining cards in the garden.[6]

2. Ensure each pawn keeps the same position from the end of one day to the start of the next.[6]

3. The player who ends the day with their pawn at the top takes the first turn at the start of the next day.[6]

4. To start a new day, set up the garden according to setup rules; after the first day, set up the garden to the left of the Gardener Pawns.[6]

5. On Day 2, players move from right to left through the garden.[6]

Ending the Game and Scoring

1. The game is over when players have completed the third day.[6]

2. Before scoring, award the Cup of Tea to the player with the most Stones; if there is a tie, the player whose Gardener Pawn is in the bottom spot wins the Cup of Tea.[6]
